Discover the remote Te Paki sand dunes

Be intrigued by the history and culture of Northland, as you discover the highlights of the region. Your knowledgeable guide will bring to life stories and legends from local Maori. Departing from Paihia or Kerikeri, you will board the purpose-built off-road, Dune Rider coach.

Cruise along Ninety Mile Beach. At 88 kilometres in length, the name of the beach is a little misleading! A never-ending paradise, where you will have the chance to stretch your legs and dip your toes in the sea. Here, you can also dig your own hot water bath.

Seriously steep sand dunes

Explore the remote Te Paki sand dunes, a ten by one-kilometre wide coastal strip reaching up to 150 metres high. Climb to the top and zoom down as fast as you can on a boogie board. Sandboarding is very popular here, but you can also walk if you prefer.

Afterwards, you will journey to the very tip of the North Island, to the Cape Reinga lighthouse, where the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean collide. Finish your day off with a stop at Mangonui Fish Shop for fresh fish and chips, a unique local experience.
